The Omano OM157B is for the more discerning microscopist with a desire for a higher quality image produced by semi-plan objectives. The microscope includes four semi-plan objectives and a full range of professional features to make for a high quality microscope with contemporary design. An added feature is an easily accessible lamp housing for convenient bulb changes.
With a Seidentopf microscope head inclined at a more comfortable 30 degree angle, the Omano OM157B-SP offers a combination of improved optics and more modern design over the Omano OM36 and OM88 series. Most important, are four semi-plan, parcentered, parfocal and fully coated objective lenses (4x, 10x, 40x spring, 100x spring oil immersion) that produce a better quality and flatter image than standard lenses.
WF10x/18mm eyepieces include eyecups for improved viewing while the head is easy to swivel through 360 degrees for flexible viewing positions or to share with a colleague. The head also includes interpupillary adjustment of 55-75mm in order to adapt to different viewer head sizes.
The quadruple nose piece is rear-facing to enable easier slide handling. Both the 40x and 100x objectives are spring-loaded to mitigate the risk of damage to the slide or objective. Magnification levels include 40x, 100x, 400x and 1,000x.
Stage & Focus
A large double-layered mechanical stage measures 140mm x132mm and includes spring-loaded slide clamp and dropdown coaxial controls for convenient 'eyes down' operation. The stage range of movement is 70mm x 30mm. Focusing includes high quality rack and pinion mechanics for longer life and coaxial coarse/fine focus controls for easier focusing.
The fine focus scale value is 0.002mm. Safety features include a rack stop to ensure that the stage does not impact with the objectives and thereby break the slides, and a slip clutch control to mitigate the risk of damaging the focus controls through over extension.
Condenser & Illumination
The condenser is a professional Abbe 1.25 N. A with iris diaphragm and filter for optimal adjustments. Transmitted illumination is 110V/220V 6V 20W halogen with variable intensity.

No fuss, just focus. Many competitively priced digital microscope cameras magnify the image through the eyepiece, so the image you see on your monitor doesn’t accurately represent what you see looking down the scope with your own eyes. That’s not good enough for you. We counter that by including a 0.5x reducing lens. This prevents over-magnification and produces real images. You can trust what you see.
