Summary

The new BL-CDW offers alternative ways to view specimens under brightfield and darkfield illumination. A convenient mode switch selects the desired illumination type, and the unit works with all Dino-Lite microscopes.

Bright Field Illumination

The brightfield mode produces a collimated beam with no adjustment required, reducing scatter light and producing more details compared to standard backlight.

Dark Field Illumination

By switching to Darkfield mode with a simple touch, the BL-CDW produces a hollow cone of high-intensity light to create darkfield illumination. This will reveal surface and outline details not otherwise visible under traditional brightfield illumination. Dark Field illumination is a simple and popular method for making translucent specimens clearly visible. Good candidates for darkfield observation include insects, minerals, crystals and other transparent samples.

Note: For best results, the BL-CDW should be used at 100X magnification or above.
