Summary

Designed for examining tissue cultures, microbes and other live specimens in petri dishes and culture bottles, the TC-5000 offer a cost effective and high quality inverted phase contrast solution. Infinity corrected optics include two long working distance, plan phase objectives (PH10x and PH20x) mounted in a quintuple nosepiece and combine with two SWH10x eyepieces for magnification powers of 100x and 200x. The microscope has a chemical resistant baked enamel finish.

Optics

The Siedentopf head, inclined at 30°, is available in binocular or trinocular format. Interpupilliary adjustment is 53mm to 75mm and there is a diopter on the left eyetube for individual eye focusing. Eyepieces include two SWH10x widefield high eyepoint eyepieces, FN 22 with a 25mm reticle mount. Optional eyepieces include SWH15x, SWH20x and SWH10x-F focusing. There are two long working distance plan phase objective lenses, PH10x and PH20x set in a smooth, ball-bearing operated, quintuple nosepiece. Optional 4x and 40x phase objectives are available.

A C-Mount camera adapter is available for the front body port of the microscope, MA877. This adapter can be used with either binocular or trinocular versions of the microscope. Please note that to mount a camera separately to the trinocular head, an adapter in the MA151/35 series may be needed.

Stage & Focus

The plain stage measures 180mm (X) x 245mm (Y) and includes a replaceable glass insert with 45mm opening. An optional mechanical stage and a variety of specimen holders are available. Focus controls are low-positioned for comfort with coaxial, coarse/fine focus knobs with adjustable tension control.

Condenser & Illumination

The condenser is an extra long working distance, NA 0.30, WD 73mm. An optional condenser, NA 0.55, WD 20.5mm is available for use with a 40x objective. Koehler illumination employs a 6V 30W halogen lamp. An aspheric condenser lens, a diffusion filter and a heat absorbing filter are also integrated into the lamphouse. A lever-type iris diaphragm is provided for aperture control. Operates with universal voltage via an automatic voltage sensor.
