We built the OM118-B4L microscope with young students in mind. So, we packed it with features like coaxial controls that enable students to move the slide without looking up from the eyepiece, keeping students constantly engaged with the specimen under their scope. We fit this student microscope with the same optics that professional microscopes use on a day-to-day basis:
Two wide-field WF10x eyepieces
Four parcentered, parfocal achromatic objective lenses (4x, 40x spring, 100x spring oil immersion)
Four magnification levels of 40x, 100x, 400x and 1,000x
… so when students move on to studying microscopy in post-secondary institutions or pursuing a scientific career, they’re already equipped with the hard skills they need to thrive.
