The Dino-Lite AM3111 is an upgraded version of the AM2111 with eight integrated LEDs and On/Off capability. Designed for hobbyists, schools and limited budgets, the AM3111 is easily best in class compared to cheaper imitations. It includes 10x~50x and 230x variable magnification, 640x480 pixel color resolution and included PC/Mac compatible software. Bundled with the microscope is an owl pellet kit to make the perfect classroom set or gift.

Software

Dino-Lite includes software for both PC (DinoCapture 2.0) and Mac (DinoXcope) computers. PC software is compatible through the latest Windows and Mac through OSX 10.5 and later. The software is robust and reliable with some great features as follows: image capture, storage and email, live and time lapse video (up to 30fps), annotation, geotagging, full screen capability, auto and manual exposure control, picture within picture zoom (magnifier) and more. Above all the color resolution is excellent due to fixed white-balance calibration which is set at the factory using a jeweler's color balance.

Gift - Owl Pellet Kit

The owl pellet kit is a perennial favorite and a perfect stocking stuffer It includes one sterilized owl pellet, two dissecting sticks and a bone chart for identifying the bones inside the pellet. Much like any gift, part of the fun lies in the anticipation of 'unwrapping' in this case the furry exterior that encases the pellet. An owl pellet is formed of the indigestible bits of an owl's meal (fur and bones), which the owl spits out on to the ground beneath its nest. Each pellet is sterilized prior to shipment. Caution - choking hazard: Owl pellet contents include small parts and adult supervision is recommended.
