The brand new OptixCam Summit K2 Series cameras represent the latest innovation in digital microscopy, built to meet the documentation demands of routine life science, industrial and educational applications at very competitive price-points. Designed around the proven Aptina MT9T001 CMOS color sensor, they share a broad dynamic range, progressive scan and 12-bit parallel resolution for accurate color replication and optimal image quality.

All Summit K2 Series microscope cameras share a rugged aluminum alloy body fitted with different size Aptina CMOS sensors depending on the model. They stand out for remarkable color reproduction as well as a large color palette for improved resolution and sensitivity. In addition, the included 0.5x reducing lens makes for an image that is significantly closer to that seen through the eyepieces with the naked eye. Robust documentation and measuring software is included with all the OptixCam K2 cameras along with a c-mount adapter with 23.2mm smooth bore to fit most microscopes.

Other features include fast refresh rates, auto/ manual exposure and white balance control, full screen live imaging, time-lapse photography and user-friendly image capture. In short, these microscope cameras offer a well-designed package at an affordable price. Software

The included K2View software provides for excellent color rendering and fast image processing especially when capturing multiple images. Simple, intuitive and easy-to-use controls offer image capture, notation, geometric measuring and storage in JPG, BMP, TIFF, RAW format. The software also includes auto white balance, color enhancement, anti-flicker and other benefits. TWAIN and DirectX plug-ins are also included on the installation CD and are independent of the main driver, allowing discreet control of the camera for these applications.

All Summit K2 microscope cameras share a rugged aluminum alloy body fitted with different size Aptina CMOS sensors depending on the model. Advanced documentation and measuring software is included along with a C-mount adapter with 23mm smooth bore and 0.5X reducing lens to more closely match the captured image with the eyepiece view. Optional focusing lenses, calibration slide and 30mm and 30.5mm collars are available.

Software

The included Windows-based K2View software creates a complete imaging solution with intuitive camera controls, image capture and advanced options like annotation, geometric measuring and storage in JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG, PCX AND TARGA format. The software also includes auto white balance, color enhancement, anti-flicker and other benefits. TWAIN and DirectX plug-ins are also included on the installation CD and are independent of the main driver, allowing discreet control of the camera for these applications. PLEASE NOTE: This software is not MAC compatible.

Accessories

The V10 is a single arm stand that is popular owing to a 21/2" extension bar that allows precision movements of the microscope head. Instead of having to shift the entire horizontal arm, simply turn the extension bar control knob at the end of the arm. The stand includes a solid metal, hanging bar bracket which permits unlimited tilting of the microscope head.

A neat feature on the hanging bar is a spring-loaded adjustment lever that enables the lever to be moved out of the way without releasing the pre-set position of the microscope head.

The Omano JW11 microscope base is a popular workhorse capable of covering 23 inches of horizontal reach and 10 inches of vertical movement through 360 degrees of sweep around the vertical post. The integrated focus block will pivot to just the right angle for optimum viewing, then lock securely in place.

It is a simple, solid and cost effective boom stand that is consistently popular with our electronics inspection customers who require an affordable stand that can withstand the rigors of multiple users on a factory inspection line or product testing lab. NOTE: Requires hanging bar bracket (OMHBB) and an appropriately-sized hanging bar, depending on the type of microscope head you intend to use. See below.

The V7 articulating boom base weighs 25 lbs yet folds into a 13 x13" space when not in use. Well-balanced and stable with smooth controlled movement, it has a removable first piece of the articulating arm offering even greater stability. The pole stands 21" high and the articulating arm has an effective horizontal extension of 35". The heavy-duty U-clamp is capable of securely mounting to work surfaces up to 2.5 inches thick. As with most Omano boom stands, a hanging bar is included that enables angled viewing positions. The hanging bar bracket is spring-loaded so that the lever can be moved out of the way without having to release the pre-set position of the microscope head.

The new Omano 80 LED ring light offers a combination of cool, bright, shadow-free illumination with adjustable intensity control and affordable pricing. Designed to replace our 10W and 12W fluorescent ring lights, this light is an inexorable step away from fluorescent illumination in microscopy applications.

The light has an internal diameter of 60mm with adjustable retaining screws for smaller housings. An adapter is also included. For worry-free operation, the light includes auto-switching power input for use with 90V-265V power supplies.

A new well-designed 64 LED ring light joins the Omano illumination stable. A microscope ring light is an excellent accessory for just about any scope. These lights are designed to be clamped or screwed on to the bottom of your scope’s nosepiece ring, fitting snugly around your objective lens, sometimes with the use of a specific adapter piece designed to work with your specific brand of scope. These ring lights can then be used to illuminate your sample from above, increasing the amount of reflected light and improving your ability to observe and interact with specific types of sample specimens that aren’t able to be illuminated from below. 

Controlling a microscope ring light is done through a corded box that contains on/off and intensity settings. This allows you to specify the amount of illumination you desire. Ring lights have been traditionally made with compact fluorescent bulbs, but LED technology has quickly supplanted these older bulbs because they are cheaper to operate, don’t require any warm-up time, pose no hazards from broken bulbs, and can emit almost identical color temperatures while also illuminating either the entire stage or selected portions of it.
