Festoon Bulb
The Omano 12-volt, 10-watt halogen festoon bulb is designed to fit a number of Omano stereo microscopes, including the OM-20-1LP, OM-113-1LP, OM-113-2LP, OM-124-1LP, and OM-124-2LP models. Festoon bulbs are often used in indicator lights and not just in microscopes; in fact, you can find a festoon bulb at use just about anywhere and everywhere where accent lighting is useful. One of the most popular locations include dome and map lights in cars, trucks, and other vehicles. Some waterproof festoon bulbs are even used in the boating industry!
Festoon lights come in many different styles. In addition to halogen and other incandescent bulb styles, LED bulbs that emit LED light are also a common type of festoon bulb. Incandescent or halogen festoon bulbs offer light temperatures at around 2700 to 3000 Kelvin, which provides a warm, yellow light. LED bulbs, in comparison, can come in a variety of color temperatures that range from yellow to temperatures as high as 5000 Kelvin, which offers colors shifted towards the blue end of the spectrum for bright but more stark and severe lighting. This is why warmer-colored halogen bulbs are still very much in demand despite LED bulbs being newer.
