MT6800 Series Asbestos Bulk Fiber/Counting Microscopes

The Meiji MT6820 offers combined asbestos bulk fiber identification and fiber counting capabilities via both polarizing and phase contrast microscopy. The microscope is manufactured under NIOSH 9102 ansd NIOSH 7400 reference methods.

The MT6820 offers strain-free plan objectives and 30W transmitted illumination at a price point well below other similarly-equipped instruments.  

The optical heart of the MT6820 features KHW10X eyepieces (with Walton & Beckett reticle) and strain-free plan objectives (10x, 10x dispersion staining, 20x, 40x) set in a smooth, ball bearing-driven quadruple nosepiece. A Plan Semi Phase 40x objective is also included.

The viewing head is inclined 30 degrees for comfort and includes inter-pupillary adjustment of 53-75mm and graduated diopter settings on the left eye tube. Transmitted illumination is provided by a powerful, variable intensity, 30W Koehler Halogen illuminator with an auto voltage-sensing tranformer for added dependability.  

The ceramic-coated stage offers 360 degrees of indexed motion with vernier and stage clips. It's mounted above an Abbe NA 1.25 condenser with centering telescope in sliding mount, and iris diaphragm in a dovetail mount. Accessories include a First order red plate, Bertrand lens, GIF green interference filter (546nm), blue clear filter and stage micrometer.

For digital imagery work, an optional trinocular head (Shown) features a sliding beam splitter which directs 100% of the light to the eyepieces or 80% to the trinocular port and 20% to the right eyepiece. The integrated front-mounted camera port and available adapters allow image capture from conventional 35mm, CCD and CMOS digital cameras.
