MT6500 Series Asbestos Fiber Counting Microscopes

The Meiji MT6520 phase contrast, asbestos fiber counting microscope is approved by both NIOSH 7400 and OSHA ID 160. The microscope offers strain-free Plan objectives and 30W transmitted illumination at a price point well below other similarly-equipped polarizing instruments.  

The optical heart of the MT6520 features KHW10X eyepieces (with Walton & Beckett reticle) and Plan Semi APO objectives (10x, 20x, 40x Positive Phase) set in a smooth, ball bearing-driven quadruple nosepiece.

The viewing head is inclined 30 degrees for comfort and includes inter-pupillary adjustment of 53-75mm and graduated diopter settings on the left eye tube. Transmitted illumination is provided by a powerful, variable intensity, 30W Koehler Halogen illuminator with an auto voltage-sensing tranformer for added dependability.  

The flat top stage offers a 170mm x 140mm ceramic-coated platform with 80mm x 52mm of X-Y movement and right hand drop-down coaxial controls. The Abbe NA 1.25 condenser includes a centering telescope and slider for 40x phase objective work. Accessories include a GIF green interference filter (546nm), Blue clear filter and stage micrometer.

For digital imagery work, an optional trinocular head features a sliding beam splitter which directs 100% of the light to the eyepieces or 80% to the trinocular port and 20% to the right eyepiece. The integrated front-mounted camera port and available adapters allow image capture from conventional 35mm, CCD and CMOS digital cameras.
